Valentine's Treat

Puppy Chow...

You know it and you love it.. so of course how fun would it be to dress it up a little for Valentine's?

It had been years since I had made puppy chow so I found a recipe on another blog recently and was thinking.. why not? everyone LOVES it!

Recipe is as follows:

1 stick of butter

1 12 oz bag of chocolate chips

1 cup of peanut butter

1 box of chex cereal

2+ cups of powdered sugar

2 clean unscented trash bags.. I tried this and then decided to move back to the bowl idea... much easier to handle!

 

Melt the butter, add the peanut butter and chocolate chips, stir continuously to prevent burning.

Pour mixture over the chex, gently toss the chex to get them all covered in the chocolatey-peanut butter mixture.

Add powdered sugar, as much as you like!

For a fun Valentine's twist I added some regular and dark chocolate M & Ms in the Valentine's colors... how cute!

I found these adorable Heart Sandwich bags at Dollar Tree and picked up several boxes.. who doesn't love hearts year round?

I plan on giving these to my co-workers and friends for a sweet Valentine's treat!
